RMJ4 Goes Anywhere But Here - sign-ups start on 1/31!

A long long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away… Levi and Mikasa were there because the next Rivamika Jam will be alternate universe (AU) themed!

For those who aren’t sure what an AU is, Wikipedia has you covered:

An alternate universe (also known as alternative universe or alternate reality), commonly abbreviated as AU, is the occurrence of canonical facts about the setting or characterization of a particular fictional universe being explored in a non-canonical way. […] Stories that fall into this definition are usually “what-ifs”, where possibilities arising from circumstances which do not occur in the original fictional universe are explored.

This means you can set your work somewhere else, in another time or place, or change a canon event to explore an alternate timeline. What if Levi and Mikasa met in college in the 1950s, or at a coffee shop in the future? What if their story took place in the world of Pacific Rim, or Pride and Prejudice? What if Levi talked to Mikasa about the Ackerman bloodline after Kenny’s death? What if they were assassins, or samurai, or knights, or race car drivers? The possibilities are endless!

Here’s the timeline for this jam:

  • The sign-up post will go live on Sunday, January 31. The sign-up period will end late on Saturday, February 6.
  • Assignments will be posted on Sunday, February 7.
  • Posting day will be Sunday, February 21.
