Hi anon, he’s probably choosing his words carefully because ever since Eren’s trial, Mikasa’s death glare meant to him “I’d better be careful around that brat or she’ll fuck shit up”.

Actually, what he didn’t know yet is that that was an original Ackerglare™, and it’s because of its aftereffects that ever since then he’s treated Mikasa a little differently than the other cadets. ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
